Christmas Gifts 2009

Yes, I do realize that tomorrow is March 1st.

Believe me, I am not trying to extend the season or anything of the sort! Come on SPRING!!!! I am dying to see some green grass and have the temps hold above 40 for one week solid....

But I digress...on to the good stuff.

Today I thought I would post the pictures of the Christmas gifts I gave out this year. Since I didn't have my blog then, it seemed like a good lazy way to still post to my blog....hehe.

For gifts this year I made everyone a pretty jar of homemade hot chocolate and used my Cricut to make gift tags for them all. I figured this would save me some money and put a little heart in my gift. Alas, I think I spent more making hot chocolate than I would have on gifts by the time I bought all the ingredients for HUGE batches of hot chocolate (BTW, did you know how much DRIED milk costs?? Outrageous!)

I picked up these great fliptop jars at Dollar Tree. They had a good seal and wouldn't flip open easily and had several cute designs. I got the chocolate dipped Peppermint stir sticks at Aldi's for a great price. Then I used pretty curling ribbon and attached my tags that were cut on Best Occasions cardstock from Wal- Mart using the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge and my Expression.

Let me know if you want me to post my hot chocolate recipe so you can make some yourself!! Much better than the store bought packages with a three month shelf life!

Be sure to leave a comment and click the link on the left to follow my blog!!

Thanks for looking everyone and have a great day!!

Treat Bag Toppers

Morning everyone! Today I am going to show the treat bag toppers I made for my daughter Jordan's 9th Birthday. Happy Birthday Jordan!!

These were made using the Doodlecharms cartridge from Provocraft with my Cricut Expression. First, I made 10 5" squares out of white Georgia Pacific cardstock using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and my Cricut.

I then foldes them in half using my bone folder. Next I cut 10 squares of the patterned paper from the DCWV Glitter Stack. Using my Adtech glue runner, I attached them to the front of the folded white cards and then used my border punch to make the decorative border on both ends of the square.

Finally, using the Doodlecharms cartridge, I cut out the birthday hat with both layers at 3", put them together and then jazzed it up a bit with Orange Peel Stickles to make the small dots on the hats.

Here is the finished product. I got the Wilton clear treat bags at Wal-Mart, filled them with some goodies and then used blue staples to attach the toppers to the bags.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hope you enjoyed today's post. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think! Have a great day!

First design post!!! At long last!! Mindy's birthday presents!!

Good friends are hard to find!! I have found one in my friend Mindy. Everything I am posting today are the gifts I made her for her birthday. I used a laundry list of different supplies and whatnot, so if you want to know about anything you see, just ask and I will let you know who made it and where I purchased it. Enjoy and let me know what you think!!

Done in an 8x10 matted frame. I like to take them and embellish the matting and make them for gifts.

This is the front view of the Memory box I made for all of her concert tickets and loose, small sentimental items.

View of top and side. I used four coordinating papers from DCWV and trimmed it all out in white satin ribbon.

Inside view.

For the gift bag, I purchased a plain bag at Michael's and went crazy with my Crayola markers. There are dots, swirls, and stars galore on it. I then used all my different ribbons to cover the front handle only and filled it with confetti shreds and coordinated tissue paper.

I also made her a Gratitude of Friendship coupon book that I placed inside the memory box....I apparently took no pictures of it and will try to go take a few and post them.

Well, that's it for my first design post. Please remember to comment and let me know what you think or if you have any questions. Heck you could even go to the left of the page and follow me if you wanna see more.

Thanks for looking and everyone have a great day!

I know, I know....

I just got shipping notice that the special batteries I had to order for my camera are FINALLY on the way!!! It is kinda pointless to have a blog like I am trying to have without a camera. So we will just chalk it up to a few weeks delay and by Monday or so I should be ready to go!!! Looking forward to getting some pictures of my designs up and sharing with everyone and maybe even someday gaining a few followers!! LOL Check back Monday and see if I got the batteries and posted some pics and from then on it will become a regular occurrence!!
